Voilà Berlin-based, fine dining-from-home experience across Europe that helps you discover and order food & wines from your favorite restaurants.🍽 It aimed to redefine the dining experience by offering gourmet dishes and wines from top restaurants across Germany and Austria, all within the convenience of a mobile app.🇪🇺

Conducting in-depth user research

The design process began with in-depth user research to understand the needs and challenges of users looking to order food.
Methods Used:

  • 📋 Quantitative Research: Online surveys helped us understand the demographics and preferences of fine dining enthusiasts.

  • 🗣️ Qualitative Research: In-depth interviews with food enthusiasts provided deeper insights into their dining habits and desires.


Design Decisions Influenced by Competitor Analysis

With insights from the competitive analysis, we made strategic design decisions to differentiate and provide a superior user experience:

  • Simplified Navigation: The app’s navigation was redesigned to make it easier for users to browse menus and place orders quickly.

  • Visual Design: We aimed for an elegant and sophisticated design that reflects the high-quality dining experience Voilà offers, standing out from competitors.

User Journey Map: 🗺️ Mapping John’s journey uncovered pain points and areas where we could improve the Voilà app.

Problem Statement: 🤔 John, a businessman who wants to host a fancy Christmas dinner at home without cooking, needs a reliable way to provide a fine dining experience for his friends.

User Flow: 🌊 We crafted a user flow that prioritized ease and familiarity, making the app intuitive for users like John.
